A view of the so-called "Georgian Military Highway" in between rain storms. My friend and I left Tbilisi in the morning and made a couple stops on the way to Kazbegi, a village in a beautiful mountainous area (see pictures on the TE Georgia page) in northern Georgia, close to the border with Russia (North Ossetia/Ingushetia). That's our taxi stopped on the side of the road.
The great thing about Georgian roads is that they are wide enough to allow for all sorts of improvisation when driving. This road, for instance, is nominally a two-lane road (one lane in each direction), but if the person in front of you is driving too slowly, you can pass him to his right OR to his left (down the middle of the road), depending on where he's positioned, even if a car coming in the opposite direction is doing the exact same thing - one or both of you will slow down sufficiently or swerve to keep from hitting the other. |

Hi Rebecca,
An interesting scene, taken from an excellent POV. The vehicle actually enhances and the eye is taken nicely along the road into the frame. I will do a WS to try and increase contrast. You have an excellent eye.
John
Hi Becky,
What an excellent perspective? yo have trully captured the feeling of this road with this picture and the lada car in the middle of the road is an excellent detail. I have made a ws to improve lighting.
A+
