Photographer’s Note

Built centuries ago and situated at 2200 meters above sea level in magical scenery of Upper Caucasus close to border with Russia, the Holy Trinity church (Tsminda Sameba) can be a memorable place for baptism. Yosef, monk in charge, has baptised me here and given me a golden orthodox cross.

Une vue impressionante , où l'interessante église paraît presque perdue dans l'immensité du paysage montagneux . Les nuages qui coiffent la montagne sont superbes , aussi . Peut être qu'il aurait fallu décentré un peu l'église dans la composition , mais je n'en suis pas certain .

A very impressive scene. This small place of worship losst in the immensity of the mountains. Here you must be able to listen to the silence.
