Welcome on TE! I made a workshop for your picture, which I like, but I think it needed some changes.

nice photo for your TE start!!

I think your idea of symetric shot is very good, you found the right angle and right spot to do it, as everything on the scene is simetric enough. Light was good too.

I think you can play with colors in GIMP or photoshop, to reduce this green tones a little bit, intensify yellow, and change hue of blue a little bit so it can be more blue =] Also, you can add more sharpness to your shot.
