Roofs and belltowers of Ananuri fortress, with 12mm. focal length. The complex dates from the 16th and 17th centiries, what's seen in this frame dates from the 17th centuries. In the distance is the inexplicably low water level of the Zhinvali reservoir, given all of the rivers in the region were full of melting snowpack. Ananuri is about 70kn north of Tbilisi, along the Georgian Military Highway leading to Jvari pass in the Caucaus mountains, the perspective here is looking south away from the Caucaus range.

Hi Tan,
What an unique POV; the two towers provide a line of sight up the broad river valley. The contrasting roofing on the two towers adds interest. HLj, Pat

Tan excellent placement and positioning of this photo using the wide angle 10-22 lens. I love the vertical reach in this photo. Most photographers have no idea how to use this lens. It really becomes dynamic when you capture that extra wide reach with it. And the scene here is a real treat to view as well. Thanks for sharing!

excellent capture and instantly became my favorite photo on TrekEarth :)
too bad that there was no water behind it.. when I passed here, reservoir was full and its emerald green tone made a strong impression to me.

Un POV original qui met bien en vedette la beauté de ces toîts et la perspective sur le paysage.
Amicalement

Great viewpoint. I also like the complete saturation of all thee major colours - roof, ground, sky. Very nice.

Tan,
Fantastic POV. I regret not visiting this place, but I had no chance. Thanks for bringing it to us.

Hi Tan,
impressive architecture in an excellent situation. You have found a fantastic POV looking out 0ver the river into the valley. This looks realy untouched.

ho tan
The shapes are quite appealing, nice POV which Emphasize roofs and towers with an excellent depth .

cheers

Hi Tan,
Your first steps in a rarely presented country, and a very centered photo resulting from limited PoV alternatives I guess. The style of the towers is very nice and yep an emerald green water reservoir would have been a plus. What is your impression about that country ?
Waiting for the Abkhasia and Chechnya pics ;-)
Have a nice day,
Jean-yves

Great shot, with an unsual perspective! The view looking straight over the roof and the towers, and then up the valley is very interesting - I think that having everything lined up like that really draws the eye into the scene very well, and contributes to the sense of depth. As usual, the colour and contrast are top notch!

Hi Tan. The colour of the well detailed roof contrasts nicely with the cooler greens and blue sky.

Hi, Tan. The downward view on the tiles is very interesting. The alignment of spires too. The hills on both sides of the reservoir frame the picture very well. Nice contrasts and colours, but I think the background is rather overexposed.

Merhaba Tan,
Harika bakış açısı derinlik hissini bir kat daha arttırmış.
Arkadaki manzara da çok güzel.
Selamlar. Uğur

Hello Tan,
Extremely nice one, particularly for us who live in Turkey and who really are closer to this kind of architecture in the east of Turkey: I was wondering how secure is Georgia for photographers ?
Friendly regards - Izzet

Hi Tan,

Impressive shot of these beautiful churches-fortresses. I like a lot the POV, the roofs and tiles are amazing, very well textured and rendered the colors. And the perspective is very good. The background is a landscape very beautiful. Great shot! Thanks.

Angel.

Hi Tan
The POV is unique & spectacular. The depth is fantastic too. Love the FG roof tiles leading to the conical roofs & then onto the dried river bed as it curves into the hill slopes

Hi Captain Tan.
What a POV for this very impressive Caucasian castle. You have managed to compose a great picture, thanks to that, with great dynamic perspective on the buildings and on the river bed leading to the mountains.
Thanks for sharing.
