‘Ananuri - Church of the Assumption ’
Maybe not a spectacular sight. But apart from the pictures I’ve already posted in previous workshops, I wanted to show you the beautifully carved external decorations of the facade of the Church of the Assumption in Ananuri as a main picture.
Here you see the east facade of the church.
The church is built in 1689.
The interior contains a number of frescoes. A fire in the 18th century destroyed most of them but in the workshop you can still see their vibrant colours.

You have found a great detailed facade for taking this wonderful presentation! Looking up was a smart idea for that work and to make the view really unique and original. Well done! TFS.
Have a nice day!

Bonjour Paul ,

a fine symmetrical and dynamic composition that draws our attention upwards and gives us the chance to get a good idea of the extraordinary decorations. A precious informative picture in which we can study a particular and interesting art, a very pleasant sight thanks to the lovely warmth of the light and the well defined textures and colours. I enjoyed very much the workshop pictures as well. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great evening,

Although there is not so much to say about composition regarding this straightforward photo, it is still a good contribution to TE for what it tells us about Georgian art. Certainly these figures show as much beauty and skill as those of more famous churches further west. The sharpness and good contrasts, giving this an almost 3D appearance, allow us to fully enjoy watching this façade. Regarding the interior the paintings have hardly lost any of their striking beauty in spite of fire.

Une cadrage serré efficace pour nous montrer avec symétrie ces belles décorations, Le bleu dans les deux fenêtres ajoute une touche de couleurs. La netteté des détails est excellente,

Nice capture of an art which is not much prsented here at TE. Both the Georgian and Armenian stonemasters has created on those regions amazing artworks and this one is a perfect sample for it.
TFS and best regards

This picture is excellent in POV and composition. The carving details on the wall are amazing. Also, the stones are in unusual color, beautifully contrasted with blue sky.
Have a nice week!

Ciao e buona serata

close-up and upward perspective are used here very carefully and considered to capture all these fascinating details of the facade.
Also the graphics of the image is strong and make the presentation really captivating.
And finally-the contrast to the blue sky.
Have a nice day

indeed the carvings are unique and definitely worth of showing but it is also true that they are not as spectacular as the panoramic views in your last two uploads. It is good to know that there are plenty of other beautiful places to visit near the Georgian capital.
Very well done,

That so fabulous and original composition, the facade of this church has a special beauty and unknown to us with these intricate designs and reliefs, the POV that you've captured is flawless and perfect.
Lovely colorful in these tones so warm.
Very good brightness and sharpness is also excellent.
Very well done. I love it.
Enjoy good weekend.
All the best.

Salut cher Paul
This is an impressive POV which accentuates the perspective and the wonderful external details of the church. Thank you also for including the WS of the murals, what a pity is was that the internal parts of the church were so ravaged by the fire. The image looks a little tilted, but that is a small matter and easily fixed in PP.
Thanks for sharing, have a lovely day

Excellent sharpness and a good upward pov. The warm cold color contrast between the blue sky and the reddish magenta facade of the old stone church is superb. Nice textural details and symmetry of the designs. Splendid shadow detail too. Tfs!

Breathtaking, the sense of wide lens is strong with the structure reaching the sky majestically and the convergence gives a splendid taste to this. The exposure control is almost unbelievable with excellent effect in the sky and getting close is great ideas with the symmetry. Nice exploitation of the situation, its really sharp so finely detailed and a standout shot against mouth-watering blue. Great photo work, Congrats.

These decorations are beautiful. Thank you for providing such a sharp detail from this pretty facade.
PS. Yes, snow in November is a bit early even for western PA.
