Photographer’s Note
On the way up we rode the horses but on the way down we had to get off and walk ourselves in order to take some strain off the animals' joints. The picture shows my mountain guide Gia and his horse descending into the Tushetis Alazani river valley.
As the name suggests, we're in the Tusheti region, the corner of Georgia that borders on Chechnya and Dagestan.

Hi Marc. Absolute wonderland. So much beauty, yet these days the traveler is often caught up in political and tribal upheavals. Such a pity.the light that bathes the mountains and the gorge below stirs the spirit. What a great PoV. I envy you. regards. Klaudio.

Hallo Marc!

Marc - youve captured an amazing epic quality in this beautiful landscape... the sense of magnatude and steepness makes this shot really interesting.
Well done,
Dave

Hello Marc,
Very nice composition and light for your picture.
The fog in background accentuate very well the ray of light.
I just hope to see more of sky.
Regards,
Damien.

Hi Marc, the inclusion of the man and horse works well here, adding scale to the landscape. Great to see someone using an X700. The shutter jammed on mine after much harsh treatment in my day pack. cheers, Steve
