Photographer’s Note
Water buffalos in Timor-Leste and in most developing countries are used by farmers to help run the rice paddies (soften the soils) before the farmers are planting the rice. When the buffalos are not working, they often go find grass to eat, sleeping under the shade of tree or swimming in the water. Along the coast and rice paddies in the eastern part of Timor Leste, I saw these buffalos swimming in the mud so I stopped and took some shots and this is one of them. Hope you enjoy.

Hi Zesopol, very nice composition of this close up shot of water buffalos. I like very much the texture of their backs protruding out of the muddy water. I converted it to BW, allow me to post please. Thanks for sharing...Alex

Great capture of the beasts in mud. The way they fill the frame is great - with those funny expressions and huge horns.
WEll done,

Ola Zezopol,
Uma foto impressionante destes bufalos completamente cobertos de lama. A compsicao e a qualidade sao impressionantes. Parabens! Seria tao bom ter uma pequena nota na foto para podermos saber um pouco mais sobre o local ja que o Timor Leste tem tanto para ser mostrado. Bela galeria a sua. Espero que continue postando e participando do site com criticas e sugestoes.

Wonderful! I can't decide if I want to suggest a wider lens because it would look even better, or if it is just so good I want to see even more...

Hi Zesopol,
i love this picture... you can almost feel the movement/ direction of the herd. the grey mud also reminds me of crocodiles in Sunderbans of West Bengal, India.
thanks for sharing,
