Photographer’s Note
When thinking about Timor Leste it is hard not to swing between hope and despair. Dili (and the rest of the country for that matter) was a peaceful place when I visited and now the cycle of violence has once again engulfed the city. I don't really wish to discuss politics, but it is hard no to to lament the situation in the country today.
This photo is shot hanging out the window of a moving taxi, driving east from the capital following the scenic coastal highway towards the second city of Baucau.
