This majestic building, waiting for his new attribution, is probably the most impressive one of the (very) small city of Baucau. Now, goats are taking good time inside, eating grass that growing there.
East Timor was a portuguese colony until 1975, then invaded by indonesian forces until 1999. After several months of civil war -Indonesia destroyed all infrastructure and lay into Timorese people- an international peacekeeping force came. One peace back, the United Nations tried to reorganize the country during two years. In 2002, East Timor became the first new country of the twenty first centuary. Now, it still try to recover and is one of the poorest country of Southeast Asia...
