Yound and Old - Blue and Orange Photo

Photographer’s Note

I met these two an early morning on Dongzhimen Nanxiaojie. I didn't want them too notice me taking their picture so I shot from the hip. I find it hard too judge distance when doing that so this is cropped from a much larger image, hence the lack of sharpness.

impressive composition (good cropping?) from shooting from the hip! i love the colors and the perspective. really a "moment" picture. well done!

Hi,
I think the lack of sharpness fits with the composition.Also you've got nice colours.

Don't worry about the sharpness here, Simon. You've got enough sharpness for the main characters and the DOF is just fine. The composition is nicely offset and the colors are good - all blending nicely together to an impressive image, especially for a hip shot. But take my advice and skip the black borders at top and bottom - they don't add anything except darkness. I guess both you and I have to practice photographing unknown people... ;o) Well captured and very well done!

a strange boy with a serious look(but very ordinary look here on boys' faces:)
and the idea was nice,i surprised by the rich colors~ why could i not shoot such heavy colors by mine???
and the size made me thinking of a movie,cheers,
