Photographer’s Note
Taken inside the Hong Kong Jockey Club in Tsim Tsa Tsui. The HKJC is a goverment owned horse racing etablishment that generates what I rather called voluntary tax.
I am always curious about man's gambling behaviour. Is it a challenge to fate by gambling or finding one's fate in gambling? Who controls who?

This is a great shot, Thien. I love how the two guys in back reading the paper book-end the whole shot, and everything else moves in a V to the screens in front. The high contrast B & W gives the shot a bad, indoor, flourscent light kind of feeling.

I like the way you've composed this shot Thien, specially how you've isolated the dark guy between bright shirts people and white newspapers sheets.
It reminds me very much how I composed one of my shots (not doing my self promotion ;D...)
However I'm a bit bothered with the BW conversion, looks too digitally metallic to me, I think there could be better to do...
Btw, I didn't notice : a new 1D mark II? did you indulge yourself in HK?

Very nice picture Thien, I like it. With all their white shirts give more contrast to the picture and a lot of deepness. Very well done!
Best regards
Guy
