Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken from the upper deck of a tram, outside the Hong Kong Central Library, on Hong Kong Island.

I never get tired of taking photos of trams - as you might have noticed from my gallery!

These 4th generation trams have been in use since the 1930's and might be one of the oldest things in this urban jungle of glass and concrete.

I have just passed my 5-year mark here on TrekEarth and I am grateful to TE (and Adam) for giving me the joy of looking at Hong Kong each day with a tourist's eye - even after 13 years!!

Hello Andrew,
nice photo! The central figure is the red tram which is good for the composition. The persprctive view is stressed by the lines of the rails. And the blurry tram in the foreground creates a motion effect thus making the picture look dynamiс :)
When I was in HK I had a couple of rides in such trams. Very interesting! And I like HK itself very much. I hope to see it again some time in the future...

Not quite, have you ever been to Kam Tin, where's there's lots of old buildings and a Ming era walled village (at least the wall is, most of the buildings inside are new).

Anyway, yes nice shot, and as you say, you can't have too many tram, I see you've manged to get 4 in this one.
