Photographer’s Note

After a long time, I'm finally posting the Great Wall. I've taken this photo in February, just a few days after the big snow storms.It wasn't very cold but it was a little misty, which can be noticed in the photos.
This part of the wall is restored. It's situated in Jinshanling, it's around 10 km long and it has around 67 towers.The biggest surprise for me was that it wasn't crowded as I expected, which made the experience even more unforgettable. It was a quite a long walk to get there, but it's really worth it.

Perfect POV. A beautiful testimony of this imposing and suggestive great wall, one of the most important works that the man has done. Seeing this interesting image I wonder me: would it be possible today such a great construction? I believe of no. The photo is very beautiful and the details are well visible. Compliments.

Ana, AWESOME, what a fine shot! wonderful detail and even the sky is not too gray. The rolloing hills are perfect and the way the wall snakes around is great. Fantastic capture.

It certainly looks colder, than when I went, in May last year. The wall snaking off into the distance, across the mountains, looks spectacular in any season. Good sharpness, & parabens / obrigado!

Hello Ana!
I just wonder, were those people, who built it, payed for their work, or were they just slaves or prisoners, who built their prison - both the original wall and the reconstructed replica? Anyway, you are lucky to be nearer to those wonders... and to the possible answers.

Olá Ana,
Deve realmente ser uma obra impressionante (não digo local, pois deve haver muitos, dado que são ou eram milhares de Kms). Apesar da névoa, conseguiste uma fotografia agradável, muito bem composta e vistosa. Acho que é a primeira vez que vejo a muralha no TE sem pessoas.

Olá Anabela, cá está um do sítios que mais quero visitar - lá terei de voltar à China. Está bem bonita esta vista geral de cima, com o ondular gracioso da muralha pela paisagem afora. É pena é essa neblina constante de facto - A China é particularmente problemática nesse sentido. Mas o resultado até está muito bom.

A good POV allowing to see the famous Great Wall, among the hills, nicely illuminated by the light giving warm tonalities. There is a nice contrast and a good sense of depth.

Hi Ana. The wall is truly a remarkable structure seemingly in the middle of nowhere. Excellent capture, lovely warm tones contrast well against the cooler tones of the hazy background. The wall itself makes a great lead-in. nice work and thanks for sharing.

Hello Ava,
the great wall is so impressive!!! I like seeing it at the top of the hills so we can see it going far away! I like the tones of the pics. I know it's a generic comment, but it's true. The tones are not flashy, just earthy and that fits very well. It gives a fine balance to your shot.

For me this was the best shot that was posted that day!!:)

é realmente uma vista e tanto de um dos monumentos mais famosos do planeta. Gostei do pov e até a névoa ficou boa aqui dando uma suavidade de sonho à composição. Um dia pretendo visitar este local, mas acho que vai demorar.

As I was seeing your Chinese album, I was wondering what happened to a Great Wall picture & here it was, I had missed. Like how you composed this amazing creation of man in a diagonal & the layers formed by the hills in the BG. Must be an amazing experience to see & walk on it, retracing the steps of traders, centuries back. Well done!
