[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This picture of grandmotherly love concludes my little travelogue of our trip through China in July and August 2001.

As I type this note I'm listening to a song called "This Perfect World" and make yet another dedication to the victims of the Sichuan earthquake. With love and peace.

Pass the chewing gum!

Dear Benny Verbrecht!
Amazing scene.
Wonderful pair.
Nice perspective.
Very nice picture.
Great effect.
TFS!

Looks like a decisive moment to me. The handoff from one generation to the next (or, well, the one after the next). A very sensitive photo. Beautifully composed. Excellent scan, as well. And a touching tribute to the people of Sichuan. What is the plight of that little girl today . . . ? Best, -Hugh

An excellent photograph Benny. You have it all here, tenderness, old and young, a piece of life, a decisive moment...Great quality of the scan, good colors and composition. A beautiful and sensitive hommage...my compliments.

TFS
Kind regards
Michèle

Hi Benny. Sweet composition showing the bond between the two and such cute hairstyle(the girl's). You must have quick reactions- well done.Yes, we are all thinking of the Chinese people whose preparations for a time of joy have turned to sorrow. And so many children gone, loved like this little one. Regards. Klaudio.

Hi Benny,
Another well caught and framed scene here. Great interaction captured between grandmother and child. Very nice details.
cheers,
Cristian

Sabine

Hi Benny,
Thanks for showing us how grandmothers are taking care of almost everything. Those generation who are mostly retired on the background and almost forgotten, what are we doing with our kids without them?I think they need more attention and dedication cause they really deserve it or have you also forgotten who mostly gave you some pocket money everytime you needed as a kid?Great shot though!
Regards from Spain,Lance

hi Benny

Very powerful portrait shot of grandchild with her guardian. As commonly seen in Asia, grannies are often natural baby-sitters for the family, unpaid and 24 hours on the job. Need to be in god health, strong and good-reputation too :)

tfs, bill
