Yading; The National Reservation in Sichuan unknown to the outside world until the late 1990s, it is a mountain sanctuary and major pilgrimage site comprising three 6000m+ peaks sanctified by the 5th Dalai Lama and seen as emanations of the three boddhisatvas Chenrezig, Jampayang and Chenadorje. At the reserve entrance, there are a lot of horses standing around with their Tibetan owners. These people and animals provide transportation into the reserve. Most visitors use these horses to travel around the more accessible parts of the reserve, between the locations where there are tent-hotels where you can stay.
Unlucky for me that the day I arrived too late for their work hours. That mean I have to walk at least 4 km.to the first shelter nearest but the day I backed it's quite early to see them stand by waiting for their guest. |
