Another picture of the Yamdrok Tso from a 5000 metre high pass; this time looking east.
Tibetan settlements are scattered along the lake, and some hours further down the road is the small city, Nangartse. The lake is being drained, however, due to a Chinese hydropower project on the other side of the mountain.
The landscape is, needless to say, beautiful in this area, and it was great motorbike riding in sunshine until a few hours later, it suddenly got very cold and started to hail!! |
