[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On the roof of the Jokhang Temple in Lhasa. For most Tibetans it is the most sacred and important temple in Tibet. This temple has remained a key center of Buddhist pilgrimage for centuries. The Jokhang temple was constructed by King Songtsän Gampo probably in 642. It was sacked several times by the Mongols, but the building survived. In the past several centuries the temple complex was expanded and now covers an area of about 25,000 sq. meters.
Here one can see the most important symbols.
The victory banner was adopted as the symbol of Buddha's enlightenment. In Tibetan Buddhism it is said to symbolise the methods for overcoming the defilements - the development of knowledge, wisdom, compassion, meditation, and ethical vows.
The wheel (Skt. chakra; Tib. 'khor lo) represents the teachings of the Buddha. The Buddha was the one who "turned the wheel of the dharma" and thus the wheel symbol is the Dharmachakra, or "wheel of law."

Na dachu świątyni Jokhang w Lhasie. To najświętsze miejsce Tybetańczyków, do którego przybywają tłumy pielgrzymow. W samej świątyni jest zakaz fotografowania. Tu widać najważniejsze symbole - te "walce" to symbole zwycięstwa, mądrości. Między nimi "koło życia" - z ośmioma szprychami, z jelonkami po bokach. Te symbole znajdują się na dachach.

Lhasa - magiczne miejsce, ktore mam nadzieje bedzie mi dane kiedys zobaczyc (i sfotografowac oczywiscie), bardzo ciekawa architektura, znakomite kolorki, dobra ostrosc i fajnie skomponowane, prosze o wiecej!
