Photographer’s Note
The northern tip of Xinjiang province is situated in the Altaimountains. At Kanas Lake the borders between 4countries meet. Up here the Tuva people rule, a Kazakh minority that don´t speak chinese and their appearance look more centralasian than chinese. I stayed one night with a family, a mother and a son. It was a cold night but the hostf amily gave me a lot of warmth, and they made an great impression on me...

A lovely portrait of mother and son. Such a nice shy smile she has, you positioned them very well against the house in diagonal, I like the ranges of grey, the little boy huddled in his cap and blanket, very good work!
