Picture from a motorbike trip between Nangartse and Lhatse. When entering this dirtroad, the Chinese construction workers were "pretty sure" that we could navigate the road all the way to Lhatse. But they were constructing the road AS we were driving on it. That is; blowing dynamite behind us and in front of us, and using small excavators to clear the small dirt path from rocks and landslides. After a full days drive, and a little after this picture was taken, huge explosions sounded, and a giant landslide blocked the road. Behind us, the road was also blocked for some time. We were caught on this small road for two days, before we had to turn around and go all the way back, including ascending and descending the 5000 M. Yamdrok Tso pass, and take a longer rd. via Shigatse.
But the scenery and colours around this river was beautiful. Here, a conjunction of three arms of this mintblue river, (not sure of the reason of the colour). |

Amazingly beautiful picture with very strong colors. I guess the colors are because of sky and shadows.

I really envy you.. must have been a phantastic trip. Motorbike and dirt road...thatīs what I like :) The landscape that you show here is just marvellous, the oasis of water in a kind of desert. Great contrast, smells like adventure.

Hi Henrik,
reading your note...that must have been very dynamic experience, full of adrenalin. It is almost in total contrast to this magnificent calm scenery, only disurbed by most vivid play of light and shadows covering hills and river. It simply overwhelming view, offering such harmonius colours and almost surreal ambient. Simply magnificent!
