The Chinese used to put a mirror or the Eight Diagrams on the top outside the door for apotropaion.
Of couse, this custom is disappearing while more and more people move to apartment which in the tall building.
And we also like to past the couplet on each side of the door for praying.

Your reflection is a nicely added touch to what would otherwise be considered as an ordinary composition, apparently ill-deserved by washed-out colours and lack of contrast. I really like it! ;-)
