Photographer’s Note
The iconic Temple of Heaven in Beijing.
I liked the pov & striking colour here. I tried some burning & dodging of shadows & highlights. Hope you like it.
Temple of Heaven is a major Beijing landmark & tourist attraction.

Hello Chris,
A well conceived composition of this colourful archway with the temple behind. The people add a sense of scsle and make for a pleasant ambiance. Excellent colours and clarity. I might have cropped some of the pavement at the bottom edge but that's only me.

Hi Chris, the colour is fabulous. Very nice use of the gateway to frame the temple inside. Your dodging and burning was obviously successful. Looks great.
Thanks, John

Hi Chris!
Fantastic framing, great composition and great inclusion of the people to give us an idea of the scale. Of course the most impressive part, are these brilliant colours. Congratulations!

Hi, Chris,
The use of the arch to frame the building in the back woks very well in this image. If I may suggest, the floor on the foreground is not adding to the image, I would crop it out to emphasize the attention to the background. BTW, have you try using the shadows/highlight? It helps a lot getting details out of highlighted and deep shadows areas, but you have to be careful not to over-tone the image.
Cheers,
Enrique

A lovely and bright picture Chris, however I don't much like the pavement. Now that can easily be fixed, so I made you a WS.

Nice use of the archway to frame the temple in a natural way, and draw attention there. The bright colours never hurt either, as it livens the image and draws more attention to the arch. I like having the people in the frame too, as they also add a sense of life. Well done!

Hi Chris. You must have done a good job with the dodging and burning here because I see nothing but a well balanced shot without any obvious signs of post-processing. I love the colors too. tfs Chris!

Hello Chris,
A love view of an entrance of Temple of Heave. One memory I have is of the interior of the dome I shot on ISO-1000 film in 1983, and marveling at how well it worked. The high tech cameras could do that so well. I wonder if you should have cropped a little from the bottom of the image here, reducing the very bright ground. In any event, the merits far outweigh any shortcomings in this beautiful photo. It must be late at night where you are, diametrically opposite where I am sitting 12,800 km away through the center of the earth. It's astonishing that technology has brought us to the point where people can communicate virtually instantly in this manner, and enjoy exotic sites vicariously.
Warm regards,
Bulent
