Photographer’s Note

A pleasant parkside scene, in the middle of a city of 5 million. This is near the historic precinct of Tianjin, where many of the old British, French, German, Russian, and Japanese Banks were located. There is a busy freeway, cutting through the middle of the historic section, which mars it slightly imho, but this is a more genteel scene.

Taken late afternoon just before sundown. The trees have filtered much of the backlight & glare.

Hello Chris,

A nice daily life shot from China..!! I liked the compo even though the blown out part in the middle of the tree is taking the attention away..!!! did u realise that..??? but very good depth in the shot..!!

Tu as créé un belle perspective avec cette vue sur cette rue qui semble s'allonger à l'infini !
Le soleil dans les arbres est bien plaçé et malgré le contre jour, l'avant plan est très bien exposé ! je trouve par contre que l'image amanque un peu de couleurs ! Sinon, le cadrage est bien vu !

A very nice contrast to your previous post. A calm and tranquil scene with this multitude of cyclists, who seem for the moment at least to have the road to themselves. Good use of the vertical format that allows the inclusion of the tree tops.

An city with alone bikers this have to very be pleasant, no smoke of cars or other sounds, this a dream for my, but not China.
Lovely daily life image and splendid perspective through the good angle for taking this picture.

This looks very peaceful for something that is in the middle of a large city - probably because I can't see any cars. I like the converging lines and long perspective of this, really drawing us into the scene. Good lighting too. Excellent!

a pleasant snapshot of a daily life in this as and the others cities of China.I like the calmly environment with its colours and the difficult lighting conditions this hour of the afternoon.I saw a lot of cyclists in my last visit in China the previous March.Well done Chris.

Hello Chris,

From a visit Twenty-four years ago on a visit to Tianjin I remember this street. I rather remember it with a river-like flow of bicycles, the cyclists however were all dressed in Mao outfits. Your usual excellent composition, with a painterly choice of vantage point.
