Photographer’s Note
The iconic landmark of China. I liked the 's' curve here. From Wikipedia:
"The Great Wall of China (simplified Chinese: 长城; traditional Chinese: 長城; pinyin: Chángchéng; literally "Long wall") or (simplified Chinese: 万里长城; traditional Chinese: 萬里長城; pinyin: Wànlǐ Chángchéng; literally "The long wall of 10,000 Li (里)"[1]) is a series of stone and earthen fortifications in China, built, rebuilt, and maintained between the 5th century BC and the 16th century to protect the northern borders of the Chinese Empire during the rule of successive dynasties. Several walls, referred to as the Great Wall of China, were built since the 5th century BC. The most famous is the wall built between 220 BC and 200 BC by the first Emperor of China, Qin Shi Huang; little of it remains; it was much farther north than the current wall, which was built during the Ming Dynasty.
The Great Wall is the world's longest human-made structure, stretching over approximately 6,400 km (4,000 miles)[2] from Shanhaiguan in the east to Lop Nur in the west, along an arc that roughly delineates the southern edge of Inner Mongolia, but stretches to over 6,700 km (4160 miles) in total.[3] It is also the largest human-made structure ever built in terms of surface area and mass."
It is NOT visible from space, as confirmed by Chinese astronauts, just a few years ago.

Hi Chris,
This Badaling part of the wall looks like disneyland despite a wonderfull natural environment. Nevertheless your pic is spectacular with good perspective. Light conditions were tricky with the white sky, but the result is sucessfull.

Hi Chris,
Great angle to show the magnitude of this impressive work of human 'art'. It's juts been added to the 'new' list of 7 world wonders. Too bad it's not visible from space.
cheers, Femke
ps: all your photo's seem over exposed on my screen... is mine too bright? Not sure...

Hi Chris, nice view of the famous landmark, I'd crop the sky on the top, but for the rest - a good comprehensive POV, nice how an eye can follow all the undulations starting from bottom of the frame...
Cheers

Classic shot, such an amazing sight that you just have to look at it in awe. I like that in this shot you take us from the close in view of the wall to the distant, all in one continuous shot. I'm disappointed to hear that it's not visible from space (I wonder how that story got started?). Excellent!

Hi Chris,
great note for a great building. How long have you searched for that amazing POV? Running and running all over the walls, thanks for that ;-)
It is a good view down in the valley which so many parts of this wall, crowded and with good contrasts to follow the "snake" through the landscape.

What a great shot of this amazing place. I never realized how undulating and filled with curves this wall and surrounding areas is. Great contrasts and including lots of people seems so right for this shot. Great work and TFS. Gerald

Bonjour Chris,
une des constructions les plus impressionnantes au monde, une photo qui la montre avec beaucoup de profondeur. Une légère surexpostion nous prive toutefois de certains détails.
Best regards.
