This is Jing Wan Lu, or at least a small part of it. It's a busy little side-street two kilometers long, about 5 or 6 kilometres from the city centre and it is typical of the many residential areas in Changsha.
The apartment blocks that you see on the left were probably built about twenty years ago and are quite basic. They all have power and running water of course, but other that they are nothing more than concrete boxes. They only have six floor because any building higher than that, requires an elevator.
But I doubt that they will be standing there for very much longer. Changsha is booming, and tower cranes cover the city skyline (hundreds of them). In a few years time there will be a grander, taller, and more luxurios structure standing beside this roadway, as more Chinese will be able to afford a higher standard of living.
I guess that my theme here would be, this young couple, walking arm-in-arm down Jing Wan Lu into China's future.
