[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taiyuan is the capital city of Shanxi Province with a population of 3,413,800 (2004).

"Taiyuan is an ancient capital, constructed by Zhaojianzi (趙簡子/赵简子) in ca. 500 BC, named Jinyang (晉陽/晋阳). It was renamed Taiyuan in the Qin Dynasty. Several Kings came from this city, therefore the other name of the city is "Dragon City". Also, Taiyuan is known for its Liuxiang shopping district and the construction of parks and recreational areas on both sides of the Fen River that are specifically praised by the UN Environmental Programme for their role in the improvement in the environmental condition of Taiyuan. Taiyuan's environmental improvement project is being copied in many other Chinese cities and urban areas around the world"

Hi Chris
Amazing ! I know this place in this industrial city. I worked here 2 years ago...
Cheers

Hello Chris,
A colourful place!
Good point of view gives fine lines and a good feeling of depth in the composition...
I suppose the "things" are parts of a fountain system, hehehe!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Olá Chris, these artificial trees are quite familiar to me and I remember seeing them everywhere, when I travelled in China. They sure add a nice graphism during the day. Good diagonal in a colorful composition and lovely blue sky. The reflections are attractive too and I wonder if you could step back a bit to have more water in the composition.
Cheers,
ricardo

Hello Chris,

Very nice combinatie with statue and light poles also a good point of view gives fine lines and a good feeling of depth in the composition. Thans for sharing.

Have a nice day,
John.

Hello Chris,

I enjoy this photo. The dandelion shaped fountain heads are reminiscent of a similar fountain in Kings Cross, Sydney. I like the predominant Red/Blue/Green contrasts and the manner they are reflected in the still waters. If it were not for the large Chinese characters in the background, I would not have picked this as China; it has more of a European feel to it. Thank you for posting this one. Happy New Year.

Matt
