Photographer’s Note

It is not very often that I get the luxury of playing around with PP. I was looking at this plugin for PS and decided to give it a try and came out with this. The aperture and speed indicated is that of the original shot.
This shot was taken last year when I visited Leshan and Emei Shan. Emei Shan or literally translated as “Towering Eyebrow Mountain” is located in Leshan City, Sichuan Province. It is a 3 hours ride from Chengdu and was enlisted in the World Natural and Cultural Heritage in 1996.It is also one of the 4 most celebrated Buddhist’s mountain in China.
Upon reaching the Jinding Si (Golden Summit) 3079.3m above sea level there is this big golden statue of Buddha which was just completed. Most of the time it will be covered by the passing mist even at midday. So you have to be very lucky to get a very clear condition. There was still a lot of construction work going on around this structure which was why I omitted the lower portion. You will see a lone figure towards the lower left corner so that you can figure out the size of this statue.

A beautiful picture with great colours and a magical atmosphere. The golden statue looks great and I like its little off-centred position. The moon is a fantastic bonus too and I like the colours of the sky a lot. Well done and thanks for sharing!

An extraordinary shot. Harmony of the colours is wonderful. Composition is excellent. Location and details of the moon are also perfect. I noticed the man on the left side, and I couldn't imagine the size of this statue. Best Regards.

What a wonderful picture, this is top quality, I look with a very great pleasure to this image.
Very soft contrasting between the statue and the pink sky colour, also the moon gives a nice view. I like this one.

Great picture with amazing colors and good contrast between fg and bg.The only thing I would have madedifferent,is ,that I would have cropped it a bitt closer at the lower side,so you can´t see the fence anymore...But anyway-nice work!

Marvellous statue...so graceful. Beautiful colours of the sky as the backdrop. I guess the softness & the dreamlike effect on the statue is on account of the mist. The moon is a great add. Wonderful work!

Hi Aloysius,
This is really amazing. At first the colours: the red turning into purple as background of the soft yellow tones of the Buddha. That should be enough, but like an extra bonus we get a lovely full moon just at the right place.

I wish I could see the original shot.
This is finally mysterious, because of the light and the colors you get. It's an unreal view and comp, almost divine...
