Photographer’s Note
This photo was taken at the Dameisha Seashore Park in the Yantian District of Shenzhen City, China.
As I was leaving the beach, the boy burying his girlfriend in the sand caught my eye. The girl was quite brave considering the tide was coming in very quickly!
The waves were quite powerful and sometimes knocked people off their feet.
The container ships on the horizon are queuing to enter the container terminal at Yantian.
This year the container throughput of Shenzhen surpassed Hong Kong for the first time.
