Extraordinary collection of characters, or should I say souls, day after day. Not only you reached for them far into darkness, but it also seems you've brought to light the best in them and the best in your photography. I'm definitely staying with you in this series, in this story, in their stories.
Hi Kev, so are you back, or posting from there?
Fine portrait and strange expression. Sounds like a fascinating trip, we'll have to catch up sometime.

I'm with Gal allthe way here, Kev, what a ively, vibrant bunch of gipsies and bohemians you've captured here - expressive too (by my own JP standards...)
Terrific shot of this woman, almost 3D in its intensity. Great series!

Francis

Bonjour, Kev,
Voilà un portrait qui rappelle dans son style les photos argentiques avec le grain apparent. Une façon très originale de cadrer et de présenter avec un style très attrayant.
Amitiés.

It's really amazing what you can pull out from all this darkness. I guess you have the gift to give light to all your subjects and provide them with a very special human luminosity. You really reach the soul of the person behind the camera and that's why your portraits are always so good. But then there is always that on the edge 5D metering that you use so well to produce such striking photos. The light in her face here is amazing. Specially the reflective/wet areas of her skin. She looks like a lollipop glowing close to the eyes of a kid. It's a brilliant photo.

another stunning piece of portraiture, kev...
you really grew up to that chinese trip, my friend...this is like a desert all of your previous works which, with all due respect, look like a training session before this chinese "real thing"...

Its great to see you getting portraits of the various people you meet along your trip Kev, something I lack in my photography. A great expression, and one that mixes it up a little as you mention in your note.

I missed quite a bit didn't I? I was quite reluctant during my time in India, to delve too deep into people's work, as I was so obsessed my own. I'm not sure if its a good or a bad thing that I didn't. I feel like I have lost whatever ability I had to write a decent critique!
I like it Kev, she looks like a very sweet person..a rather cheeky smile with such an inviting face.
I will try to catch up...slowly...
