Xian Noodle Maker Photo

Photographer’s Note

This shot was taken while strolling the Muslim Quarter of Xian in central China. Most people come to Xian to see the Army of Terracotta Warriors located a few kms away, but this walled city also has a lot to offer. One of my highlights was walking the narrow streets and laneways of the Musilm Quarter, with its old mud-brick houses, Islamic food markets, butcher shops and of course this young man making noodles on a street corner. It all makes for an interesting day.

Hi Spiros - an ideal image for Trekearth..and very impressive noodles! I like the steam playing around the scene, adds some good atmosphere. Maybe could be brighter, but a small point - well done!

Hi Spiros,
I like the composition of your noodle-maker. It's a very vivid scene. But in my opinion the skin of the man is too dark. I have made a little WS to brighten him. I hope you don't mind.

Hello Spiros,
I like this composition. The two man looking at you and one with noodles have a friendly look. The smoke adds to the atmosphere and give sense of reality to this shot.

I think you could crop the light area on the right Spiros, but otherwise this is a really good slice of life picture.
