Photographer’s Note
Like so many others, I also travelled by the "written planet". Kept under the safe wing by the subjective pen of some authors, finding out after a while all the limitations...
i think the lonely planet is just as hot a topic while travelling as your necessary doings in the toilet, and nobody likes 'em but everybody uses them ;)
levels, minor crop and usm.

Could not agree more! This shot is great. I can just hear you (assuming that's your finger) standing in front of some non-existent or closed or just wrong place and saying "But it should be right here."
On the tech side, I like that the pages behind the finger are out of focus, but the out of focus pages in the front are a little bothersome to me.

Wonderful shot Terje, one already starts to feel lost in the maze. "Second Ring Road" - how mechanical and alieniating can a name get? (there must be some really badass photos to be made there). Composition, colors, DOF etc are top notch, great contrast between the skin tones and the white/grey/black book pages, the little green spot is good too.

Ha! This aspect of traveling is rarely displayed, and you did it in a very creative and well composed way. Your pointing finger as a diagonal to the second ring road. Indeed a metaphorical name, summing up all the ways to get lost.
Great shot, Terje!

I am guessing that the finger is pointing to the spot on the map where the street SHOULD appear had the map drawer not decided it to be too insignificant to include on their map. I know the feeling well. Speaking of toilets, if you ever find yourself in desperate need to go but no toilet paper then the lonely planet finds another use. :) - and the map page would be my first choice.
Great idea and very clear shot
