Photographer’s Note

A slight pun here, this is last of the ferry shots I'll be posting for a while, though I don't think I'll be able to resist a return. Also, this was the last ferry to Chan Wai from the the Tsim Sha Tsiu pier in Kowloon, which I'd just missed. Had to get back to my hotel via central instead.

Hong Kong has been always kind of mythical place, there where east and west shake hands, where comunism (well, this strange Chinesse conception of comunism) and capitalism not shake hands: Directly embrasse each other... Then the images of "In the mood for love" (although I find the movie a bit boring, frankly speaking) and some other movies. This image brings me back lots of dreams and makes me think I really want to go and better sooner than later. Take care Richard.

What a a great and impressive picture! The light here and the sharpness really are overwhelming. The whole scenery has a wonderful -for me a bit frightening - night atmosphere. But I like forests and fields much more...;-)

I read that the Star Ferry Terminus in HK is to be demolished & rebuilt shortly, so a good documentary shot. Superb colour. Tfs!

Yes I would look forward to a return of more ferry shots too, Richard, but for the time being this is a good one to wrap up the mini-series. A pleasant view with the ferry going in front of the downtown highrises; well exposed to render the nighttime ambience with the multitude of colorful light sources. Good showing of this HK scene (and scenery).

Lovely night shot with a lot of beautiful lights showing is the new and modern China.
The first illuminated advertisements are the herald of many more in the next future.

Nice mixed lighting in this suitably rmantic shot, Richard. There's nothing that will make you breathe a little deeper and get the eyes misty like the Ole Tsar ferry in HK.
