Photographer’s Note
This is the first photo of two series of people's daily lives that I'm hoping to upload over the next couple of days.
This shot was taken in a small Chinese village near the city of Taizhou in Zhejiang province. This is the village that my girlfriend grew up in.
A fair bit of PP has been done to this shot in terms of dodge/burn and curve adjustment. I *wanted* this shot to be very contrasty. Unfortunately I cropped it a little off and so we have a small mark at the top right hand corner... unfortunately I don't have a non-rescaled version to hand to quickly fix this!
Any and all feedback and comments would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hello Lewis
The black and white and the grain work very well here,
the pov is great as is the person. I think you should play with levels and shadows to reduce the darkness of your character.

Hi Lewis,
Great B&W. The flame and the smoke are well underlined. I like the timing you chose. Well done

I would do a bit of shadows/highlights on the guy...a bit of dodging onnhis face but also to try and bring out the details in his clothing. Some buttons are almost visible, Im sure you could get some more details there....the frame is great, I like his body language, the strange location.

Another amazing composition on the fly, and a superb black and white with excellent tonal values and wonderful contrast. Into my favorites!

Very moving moment
A crispy and lovely b/w, maybe too contrasty as his clothe is too dark.
