this is from the sand dunes just west of Dunhuang in Gansu at the edge of the Gobi Desert... it had rained quite heavily in the morning, so trekking along the dunes was a little cooler than normal, and the sands a bit firmer, holding the shape of a footprint

Love the composition and the bright white sand. I've climbed similar dunes in Namibia, going up the spine really is the only way!
I think th efocus is too far to the front, where the details in the slipping sand is very clear. It would be better if th DoF extended back to the walker.

The footsteps leading up to the trekker is pretty symbolic. You could see the contrasting sides whilst the man/trekker is almost toeing the line.

Really good, Scott! Very well composed, and I like the way you used the focus to hint that the man is "out of his element" as it were. And you caught him with all that much more to go -- it really summarizes how small mankind is compared to nature. Well done!
