Merhaba Aysegul,
Yeah, You're right, maybe they are feeling a little bit confused about all the changes in their country... Anyway, interesting, natural expression on their faces and nice background with the fruits in a small shop,
Good reportage,
regards,
maki
P.S. for this observation as a reporter's picture I think it can be maybe better in B&W...

Hi, Aysegul. A very crisp portrait of these two elderly Chinese. I like the neat division of your picture: the old couple waiting for customers on the left and their merchandise carefully displayed on the right. Their world seems to be restricted to that small area. And, as you say, some signs of modernity can be seen in the background: the modern scales and the fridge.

That is a crucial question that only they can tell about. But in your shot they look good if a bit sad. I like the picture which does not show at all the new fast Chinese life. Well done.

Hello Aysegul. Photo and text complement each other well. The two old people have certainly no large expectations to the future. The faces show that they understand their life from the past. From the past also still the old uniform jacket of the man originates. Everything which it do now, is probably for the children and grandchildren. The photo is well taken and pleases me very well. Many greetings, Wolfgang.

Orada belki sıradan fakat benim için çok sıradışı yüzler. İlginç ve iyi bir döküman. Tebrikler

This is good Rozy (Aysegul is too hard too spell repeatedly - let me know if this bothers you). Your note perfectly conveys the sense of "sparseness" I feel in the photo. Not that the photo looks sparse, but the surroundings of the people living in the past gives me a great sense of anxiety with their surroundings.
Their expressions are perfect, with the two banana clusters hanging and the vegetables scattered along the ground - all against what looks like a fairly empty srorefront...unfortunately I am more used to Walmarts and Targets than scenes like this. It is, truly, ashame. I see it in the US also. Older people trying to get by the only way they know how...I think about it often. I tell myself that change is good, that once I stop changing, I know I am old. I try to think of new ideas, try new technology, do new things...It's not so easy for everyone. Theydo not know how to live, to get by, to be happy.
Ok, enough about me. Great photo. Love the composition. The expressions are perfect for your title, or should I say your title is a perfect interpretation of their expressions...Sharp, detailed and goos color to match. The man's jacket is also interesting...almost like from an older China, a "more communist" Chine is the feeling I get.
Very nice.
Great work.

Great faces, really ! Formidable expressions, I love it... Also the context is nice but a bit less interesting IMO : I would have concentrated on the faces here : very moving !
Tebrikler, ellinize saglik,
Selamlarimla,
Cath.

This photo connects with the elderly couple in a very special way. Her eyes seem to have much to tell. China is no country for old men, or women. Then again, it will be soon be for no one considering the environmental drain the country is heading down to. Best,
Hakan
