Was there a reason why you haven't shown us his head? This is a very strange post.

Ming,
I think due to Hip shot you did not judge his head & other part of shot, since blind view finder.
Tilt I feel impressive but It is not clear what you want to tell.

Ni hau, Mingfang. Great cropping with that secondary figure on the ledt echoing the main... And I really like centered compos teghse days too. Nice, deep colors - a strong visual statement. Beautiful work!

ps I don't believe this was a "hip shot", but rather that is the way you "saw" the picture...

Hi Mingfand, lovely setting, but I am going to ask the same questions, why the chopped heads? Personally don't thing it works here and it's a bit of a gimmick. Pic you show in the link doesn't have any chopping and it looks fine.

No, it's not cropping of the head, it's cropping of the eyes. I guess he was looking straight to you - and that would had the potential to ruin the picture. So I perhaps the instinctive decision to crop the eyes was just about eliminating his look from the pic...
...and I like a lot his walk aided by this cane near the curved bulldozer traces...
Deleting? No way, That's a good photo Ming!

Ninhao,
I think that's a very bold and brave decision to crop his head out, so good job :)
As the result, I don't mind it. Without the head, the central composition actually works very well. What's more - the head is 'replaced' by the one at the end of the frame.
I think seeing this guy's smile is enough to justify cropping the head. Don't delete it - its art so everyone sees things differently :) especially with this kind of art...

You are not very nice with this old man, he can barely walk and you ... chopped his head ;o)
I think we should see this not as an isolated photo but as piece of a serie. The slight tilt emphasizes his fragile walk.
I'm ok with the chopped head as I already his face from previous shot (this is where the serie is important). I would say his central position involves some dynamism, splitting the photo this way, you can only appreciate the bg on the rigth side and his mate on the left.
Thanks, Alain -
