Photographer’s Note

Chinese martial art movie are very popular in the world in these recent years, so that some foreigners would mistake every Chinese for a master of martial art. actually except for the kids, not so many Chinese people would care about the martial art.

The kids here live in Beijing Hutong. they parents are from outside Beijing, living on collecting trash. these two kids' idol are Jackie Chan, every day, everywhere, thery would not forget to practise martial art. look, when they look at my camera, they shouted :" who dare touch me , i know Gongfu (martial art)!"

Wow Mingfang, awesome compo - great juxtaposition. The DoF is very well managed and I like how the little girl looks at you behind the boys. The tight frame works well in this 'action packed' photo. Nice story too.

Intresting shot.
But few points I am concerned of.
As Cheuk mentioned, focus is bit shoft.
I am really worried about Bokeh.
It is not good enough to this softfoucs & I thnik you should keep background more prominent.
Kids in action is really CUTE.

Great, great double portrait!!
One of the two little boys looks shy, the other one (only one eye!!- but enough!!) looks very proud, the two boys together have a symbolic meaning of this attitude about martial art .. and perhaps about life.
Hands create a fantastic composition in the foreground, and cover the other eye of the proud one.
I like a lot also the background, where we can see, blurred, a mother working and a little brother following her: another story, or: real life going on!

The softness does not worry me here, Mingfang, so GOOD is the compo. Hey, these kids are moving the whole time and you SNAPPED just at the right moment, standing there, real close to them... Superb golden light helps too.

That's a dangerous life you are living ;-)!!
There is something I really like in your photo, which is the 2 stories in one shot. The foreground with these 2 funny "monsters" taking martial art very seriously (haha) could give a very funny mood to the photo, but then the second part in the background reveals (with the help of your note) the reality of their parents' livelihood, which gives another tone to the overall mood. I really like these 2 sides in one photo.

I'll come back to your gallery, from the little I saw, it looks really nice.
