Photographer’s Note

This man was sitting, probably taking a rest for a while, during a visit to the Imperial Palaces in Beijing.

Surrounded by the impressive buildings of the Forbidden City (some of them currently under restoration preparing for the Olympic Games), this old man is probably thinking on the magnificence of the old imperial times, that in a certain way is being recovered by China at a very fast pace.

Local tourism in China is absolutely impressive. Millions of people, many of them coming from rural areas, move to visit the main touristic destinations in the country. I was lucky to see this phenomenon in the Easter weekend in Hangzhou, a wonderful town that receives every year 20 million visitors (most of them chinese) (more or less the same as Barcelona).

Hola Antonio.
Lo mejor de la foto, creo, es el gesto del hombre. Igualmente, considero que a nivel técnico un fondo más desenfocado funcionaría mejor.

Hola Antonio, dos cosas sobre el encuadre que yo hubiera gestionado de otra manera: el centrado del hombre y el nivelado, por lo demás es una foto que me encanta por los colores, la luz, la definición y sobre todo el gesto del señor chino.

I like the way how you've taken this shot. However I may have liked his feet also to be included..But against the BG of white, his black dress provides good contrast. Well seen!
