Photographer’s Note
"Do you like to eat it grilled or fried?" The young Chinese waiter asked me. I was shocked. Yes it is fresh scorpion. Not very far from Tian Anmen Square in Beijing, China, there is a huge crowded market where you may find everything to eat: scorpion, beetles of all colors and kinds, snake, skinned frog and many other creatures. "The Chinese like to eat all of them", my host told me. "They eat everything flying except airplane and everything diving and swimming except ship.

Hello Ali,
You have done a nice collage of these creatures. I would love to see compositions in the lines of just the woman eating those bugs, the expression on her face and such things. Never the less your photo conveys the message.
When I was in China what i got from one of the locals was that he eats any creature that moves and has its back towards the sun, humans have our back straight thats why they are spared :)
Cheers,

I've been to that market, too, but unfortunately didn't have my camera with me. Glad to see you had the guts to try it!

I loved the chinese people for their love of eating anything and everything,
This shot conveys that very well.
The line of crickets on the stick headding into the womans mouth is my favorite.
excellent shot Ali.
I like this little montage.

How interesting! Did you try them? Before I saw the larger version I thought it was just an interesting flower arrangement. Nice capture, and very different.
