Hi Mark,
I wish I'd spent more time north of the harbour in Tsim Tsa Tsui; Gage street is pretty tame in so far as "China Towns" go but that's in the heart of Central I suppose. This is a nice interesting night scene, plenty of detail and the man interacting with the woman about the roasted meat is nice, though her back facing me is something I'll nitpick about. I like the casual, off-handed feel to this shot-- just taken on the fly. It gives it a sense of reality, of normalcy.
I remember one place on Gage Street where I tried Cantonese style soya chicken on rice. I loved that restaurant and unfortunately cannot remember the name. The owners and chefs were all playing cards round the back and the dining area was surrounded by huge roasted pigs hanging by their hinds on meat hooks! That minor detail set it apart from same sort of Cantonese barbeque places here in Melbourne.

Hi Mark, excellent shot, you captured very well the normal life in HK.
amazing view, good tilt, excellent focus, colours and many, many things to see.
thanks, ciao
Good shot Mark. Good combination of sharpness on the main guy, coupled with slight motion blur on the girl. Pretty good exposure too, although I think a stop or so less would be a little better. Perhaps you could have added a black gradient from the top to tone things down? At first, I thought there was too much space on the left, but the more I look, the more I think the people in the restaurant add to the shot. Quite a good expression on the guy's face.
Probably we will find a nightmarket this weekend Mark.

Yeah, I'd take one of those ducks anytime. Look how he takes it in his hands, with love and care like if he's selling his soul. Who cares about chicken flue when you dream about a pekinese duck under your fork? I don't. I like the scene, real daily life subject.

Haha, a nice one Mark, the man is so eager to sell that duckling, the girl may not be convinced. But indeed his heart is in it. Wonderful capture, and excellent sharpness under the conditions.

The pride in the guy's face as he handles the duck, eh?

Mark,
A great daily life scene i love the light here and the really greenish tones to everything. Nice expression on the the butchers face and i like the little table at the back which gives the image some depth.
Cheers
Peter
