[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I liked the contrast between the old & the new here, & the minimalist color tones & graphism. The 'Doctor Seuss' lighthouse at right, was unusual, too. Taken from Gulangyu Island.

Hello CHris
I really like hte contrast between all those leements, the tempel and boatman seem like time travelers stuck in the wrong stop.
Well done
Regards
Daniel

Bonjour Chris,
C'est vrai qu'il existe un contraste étonnant entre la partie ancienne et la partie moderne.
Ce qui me plaît le plus, c'est la présence de cet escalier qui dessert ce phare juché sur ce rocher.
J'aime beaucoup.
Philippe

Chris,
What a contrasting, yet surprising image...
Unlike in general fact, the Old is in front of a modern background!...
This brings more attention to the olden life...
A bit of concern though. The selective cleaning/sharpening on the boat man is little obvious...or is it my eyes?...
Any way, an awesome shot!.
Prem.

I like the monotone blues in the image and as you say the old/new contrasts are interesting. Your Dr Seuss reference made me smile; I know exactly what you mean.

I like this unusual shot Chris,
the man in the boats in the backlight give a very nice effect, well composed shot, very nice to look at, good job.

Hi Chris

I like this composition. It has only two or three colors, like a half-color version! Great addition the man on the boat. Great depth also!

Great high key scene! I like combination of the different elements, which gives this a great contrast between the new and the old. The positioning of the man in the boat is just right too. Excellent!

Hi Chris,
The desaturated colors add a timeless touch, superb graphism and contrast too.The man on the little boat in the foreground is a great detail.
Have a nice weekend,
Hermann

Hi Chris. You know I overexposed accidentally a shot much more than this one yesterday and it too took on something of a surreal painting and if you oe'd this one a bit more it would be neat to see just the black objects and some of the skyline. Good one Chris.

Hi Chris
What I found interesting about this image is the super mini light house with this cool and unique staircase leading to it.
Pretty unusual stuff, Chris.
Cheers and good day.

Hi Chris, An impressive shot to the sampan with the beautiful scenery. You have well captured the strange rock formation and the structure on the top of the rock together with the modern looking city in the background. Good contrast and nice PoV.
