A while back I posted a portrait of the guy in the back. Looking through my gallery I found that I had an equally happy picture of his friends. They were hanging out outside the fabric market, I think they were playing cards or something, and were very willing to pose. Notice the man in the middle and how he has pulled his t-shirt halfway up, that is a very common, and efficient, way to cool oneself in Beijing. Another popular way is to drink green ice tea, of which he is holding a bottle in his right hand. So this picture is basically a survival guide for hot Beijing summer days.

Another detail is that he has a long finger nail on his pinky. That's also pretty common amongst Beijing men, but I've never figured out what's the point (neither did I for women who have long nails). It looks kind of funny with just one long nail.
