Photographer's Note
Carved into a cliff at the convergence of the Min Jiang and Dadu He Rivers, stands a 230-foot Buddha called Dafu. It is one of the world’s biggest Buddha images and an outings and pilgrimage destination for many of the non-Chinese minority people living in tiny villages around the town of Leshan, in Sichuan Province.
I saw this lady about to climb up to the top of Dafu.

I like this picture even though it lack sharpness. But you are just like me with the scan.. I would like to do a WS... Don't you allow them?
I did one that I posted under the picture I mailed today...

This is a beautiful photo Eva. I can imagine she has a story or two to tell. The picture is really sharp and captures all the details in her face really well. DOF is excellent as well.
I think the colors are a little washed out though. This isn't strange considering the age of the photo, but I think it could be easily helped with some minor tone curve adjustments.

As the others say this is a beautiful picture (except of course for the faded colours which I will attribute to a bad scan).
Considering the photogenic staircase to the right I'm surprised you chose to centre your subject...

Eva,
I like the composition -- the woman's umbrella being a diagonal echoing her posture and the stairs leading away at the other side of the image. I like the depth of field -- enough blurriness to make a non-distracting background yet sharp enough to add element to the image. I'm not sure I like the "cool" colors of the impage -- I might like her skin tones a bit warmer (though this may have been how she looked) and the foliage a bit less blue -- the image looks a little washed-out (if this was the intended effect, I might have done it a bit more extreme for more impact). Nice, though. Very "National Geographic."
(note: sorry -- wrote this before I read the other reviews and your discussion thread)
