Photographer’s Note

This photo was taken today at the North Point Ferry Pier.

The Hung Hom district of Kowloon is in the distance.

For 2 years I used to take this ferry to work every day. On a good day it provided excellent views of the harbour and the financial district in Central.

Foreground:-
Island Eastern Corridor. An expressway along the north shore of Hong Kong Island which was built in the 1980's. The section between Causeway Bay and Quarry Bay is mainly viaducts built on the sea along the coast.

Middle:-
North Point Ferry Pier. Ferries connect North Point ferry pier to various places in Hong Kong, including Hung Hom, Kowloon City, Kwun Tong and Po Toi Islands.

Background:-
The Harbourfront Landmark in Hung Hom. A 72-storey residential and commercial building.

Interesting picture with great DoF and PoV. Even the underneath of the bridge's sharply captured. Very well composed. Thanks for tellin me its a residential building in the background. I've always thought that's the Harbour plaza hotel...lol - silly me. Also quite interesting to see the lamppost appear on top of the bus. TFS. Hv a nice day.

Another way of showing the density of Hong Kong, Andrew, together with the means of transportation. I like how you've filled the frame. The close-up of the elevated expressway - with a conveniently passing red double-decker - is well showing a structure we previously(?) only have seen at a distance in your shots and in much the same way as we here see the the 72-story building. It's an appealing image of something as sturdy as the concrete foundations of an expressway. Well done!
