Photographer’s Note

This photograph was taken in the back streets of the muslim quarter in X'ian. The men playing chess were unawhere of me composing the shot, however the old man peering round the tree stump was not so emersed in the game!

Great scene. The old men are very relaxed. This is 'daily life' at its best. The old man looking in the lens is an interesting element but that's the young man watching the game too.
Maybe it would be even stronger when you crobbed it.
