Photographer’s Note
wouldn't it be nice if the only flags flying across all borders were these soul flags? no more blind following of a country, no more patriotism, no more hatred. our countries' flags inspire so much hatred & violence & to what end? is the world really getting better?
i'm for the prayer flag being the soul flag blowing in the breeze.
the only problem with this, is that it's just imposing another 'religion'...buddhism.
(i know the 'free tibet' at the bottom of the pic is a bit cheezy, but it already looked like a postcard, and i couldn't resist).

I think Patriotism is a good thing, fanatism is a diferent kind of thing... we could love our flag respecting that others love their own flags... but i understand your thought... we should all live under one flag... a flag that would stand above all others. Great and colourfull view and a good message.

There have been several prayer flag shots posted to TE in the recent past, but none of them quite captures the density, colour and texture of them quite like your picture here. I like very much the fact that the frame is filled with flags and the strong linear composition draws a strong parallel with lines of washing.Well captured and exposed with strong contrast.

Hi Skye,
I like the subject & the pov a lot...havin' one flag would be far too boring in my eyes...one can't blame flags for inspiring violence...look at Brasilian flag for example, isn't it beautiful?...cheers, artur

Hey Skye!
I just love the backdrop of clouds against such colorful rags. The flags are all colored rags and breath violence just like religions. Even buddhists that are supposedly very peaceful massacred thousands of hindus in cambodia and other places.
It makes me sick to my stomach to see people driving with flags on their cars which usually means they support the war. They are blind folded by it. Patriotism and religion have always been a marketing tool of fascism.
Thanks for sharing..

Works for me! I wonder if the sky isn't a bit too cluttered with clouds... nah, I'm wrong. It's a great photo.
