Photographer’s Note
On the train from Panzhihua to Kunming (7 hours for 350 km), I saw many people along the railway. This is a team of railroad workers including men and women. The train crossed very few roads.
One can note very simple tools and women as part of the team.
The train was on a stop when I took the picture.

a very nice geometrical contrast. straight lines (almost) and curves. One thing i do to cheat a little, is bump up certain colors (say the reds) under selective color in PS. cheers!

Very fine picture built up on repetition, both of men and of train cars. The size differnce of the men and the train is also important. I would like to crop at the top and on the right to exclude the sky and the trees but it´s just a matter of taste.

J'aime beaucoup cette photo. Le format serré et vertical est tout à fait pertinent. La courbe formée par le train donne une certaine harmonie à l'image (j'essaie de m'imaginer la scène avec un train tout droit, mais non !). Vraiment bien vu Laurent !

Nice pic! I like how the line of people mirror the train to the left. and I like how the path swings to the right. I agree with scalerman more saturation would be nice, or a high contrast b/w.

Waoo!
Great capture. Such a contrast between this huge machinery that basically a train is, and human energy - Chona's "hidden means of production" as Chairman Mao had it...
Such a nice illustration and reminder of the outsiders of China's economic development.

This composition is very beautiful, the curve of the train and people in this corridor so narrow, really a very beautiful photo.
Cette composition est très belle, la courbe du train et les gens dans ce couloir si étroit, vraiment une très belle photo.

Nice tones. Very well seen. I like how the people and cars are both in line. I would crop it tighter to highlight that line – I posted a WS...

Fantastic composition! There are so many components - curves and straights, train perspective going to optical center of the picture, two competing rhythms (of carriages and people).
Maybe it should be rotated CCW a bit?
I liked Olli's WS, too :)

I put out a WS for you as well. A good snapshot, but I felt you could do it a bit more "telling"!

Very nice colors in this photo! Very well done. I might have let the workers move on just a little more so they are curving just like the train, but that's a small matter because it's a great shot.

Hi Lau,
I do like your picture. The narrow, vertical framing works well in presenting this subject and the curves of the railroad. I too have been on this train route, twice, and found it quite interesting, with beautiful and intriguing landscapes along the way. It's a good thing you had your camera ready.
