Photographer’s Note
A friend of mine, living on the first floor invited me to his flat. Of couse I asked him about these wild prints on the walls. They are the phone numbers of locksmiths advertising for service. There is even one on the stairs themselves.
I think these wild stampings are a quite recent phenomenon due to recent ease of setting up your own business and to the explosion of cellular phones in China.
The green box is for fresh milk, the yellow boxes are for newspapers.

Very very interesting. I like the story this picture tell and evnthough it is a simple "show" of Chinese characters and numbers, it is a casual depiction of our daily life!

Very interesting subject. And very interesting way to advertise... Great mix of colors, shapes and texts. I posted a more graphic version to WS...

A good daily life shot from China. I especially like the ideas of the boxes for milk and papers. Good colours.

Sorry - may be I am colorblind but I do not see any estheticism here. Rather terrible stairway. (OK, OK, in Riga there are many bad stairways too)
But the story - it's interesting and somewhat funny :). Seems, they have got even some specific methodics for making these advertisements. May be they pay for one and the same small company to make these adverts in all the stairways.
Well captured!

This is hilarious. Only in China. I'm so glad you shared this with everyone.
