Photographer’s Note

I was experimenting my brand new 21mm in the middle of Aberdeen towers.
Sat down almost leaning my back on those two old guys who I could feel and hear engaged into a passionate and endless chat with lots of expressions, hand moves or face grins.
I simply set the rangefinder to the lesser distance I could, put the camera almost on my neighbour's closer knee, waited for an another expression and clicked.

Once again, the strength of the rangefinder Leica is that it doesn't make any noise.

Toned up the scan in order to make the background buildings stand out from a dull white sky.

I love diagonal compositions! Nice job on this one. The people and the strong diagonals of the apartment buildings are great. The expression of the man is the kicker though! Cheers!

Dazzling angle Luko. I really like how the diagonal architectural lines contrats with the human "elements". Great timing as well, you patience is highly rewarded!

Normally, I really don't care for off kilter shots, but here it works(or at least it does not detract). I think what I like here is the perspecitve of looking over the one man's shoulder as though evesdropping. A very good expression on the other man's face as well. As usual Luko, your toning is excellent, although from the sounds of it, done via Photoshop as well as in the wet darkroom, which is slightly different for you.

Generally speaking, I am for simple fotos and I do not understand why the vertical buildings should cross the frame diagonally (if there is such a word). But it works and this is a very good capture! But above all - congrats with your new 21, these short focus lenses are real something, they teach you see differently, putting together the things which are in many ways far from each other.

Ouias, un tilt qui claque comme la foudre sur un arbre.

Ca donne vraiment un truc barge ton image, ce sourire, ce sépia doré.

Bref tout qui marche pour moi
