While strolling around Xian, this man basically rode into the frame with his red lanterns and nice smile in tow.

The red lantern in China goes back as far as 250 BC. It is hung outside doors and used in festivals.

This is a scan of a fuji slide taken in 1997 in China. I think Xian has probably changed quite a bit since then.

Hi Joe, you captured a lovely motive.
I remember this overloaded bikes, they put everything on them, sometimes realy comical.
The quality is not so good, I think it's scanned. But I like it, you gave me nice memories, thanks a lot
