[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The third in my series of details from inside the Forbidden City.

This decorative panel is part of a wooden side door. The rich colours, especially the red and gold, are very typical of the paintwork used within the complex.

I like the composition and colors of this photo. Great how you captured the gold. IMO this is the best of your series so far.

Hi Jonathan, A very nice close shot. It means ten-thousands. This is a popular character for meaning of longevity, plentiful, and wealthy.
You have well captured the style, the age, the details and the size of the door. Well done.

Interesting close-up with great sharpness and nice colors

Great detail Jonathan. There is just enough reflection to light up the gold symbol on the door. I also like the way you got right in close with this, but the symbol is off centre. Well done!

HI Jonathan
Joli composition de formes et couleurs, le cadrage est parfait

Hi Jonathan,
interesting graphical composition with this combinaison of 3 colors. I like the chinese sign.

Your close up details from China are stunning and inspiring.

Hi Jonathan,
you took beautiful details of the forbidden city. I wished I had seen your pictures before I went there in 2003.

Hi Jonathan, very nice shot, but original. Just have a look at my shot of the same caracter.

This is a very good typical example of details here. I like it. It just needs a little bit of sun to take it up a level, though.

TFS!

Hi Jonathan
I like the compo an idea of this shot. Great idea. This sign is beatifull.

It's interesting to see how you compose shots from that place (after knowing now how it is for real). Excellent framing (especially, with the cut of the diamond's tops). The close up produce colors and textures. I like it.
